The Hampden County Radio Association enters the ARRL 10 meter contest as a club, with the combined scores of all HCRA entries helping us compete against other similarly sized local clubs around the country. This is a great contest for new or experienced hams, and we’re still near the peak of the current sunspot cycle, so 10 meters is full of DX opportunities. Even newly licensed Technicians have access to portions of the 28 MHz band.
This year, the contest is on the weekend of December 13-14. Take a look at the ARRL page for details, including the complete contest rules. The exchange is easy: just a signal report (59 or 599) and your state. DX stations will send a sequential serial number instead of a state abbreviation. When you prepare your log for submission, put “Hampden County Radio Association” in the “Club” line of the Cabrillo file.
