April 2021 Meeting – Show and Tell
Get your projects ready for our next Show and Tell on April 2, 2021.
Show and Tell is meant to encourage the ham Do It Yourself (DIY) spirit. You can build something using hardware and/or software. It could range from extremely simple to extremely complicated, but be aware of the time limitation.
Preferably it should be powered up and demonstrated even if all features are not implemented.
Show and be proud of your personal effort. It is OK to borrow ideas and we all learn and learn from others, just make sure you cite your sources and give credit where credit is due.

Possible Way to get Children Interested in Ham Radio
Molly of Denali is a PBS cartoon. In one of the episodes they use Ham radio to communicate with many about a lost dog. If you have the opportunity to have your children or grandchildren watch the episode, go for it! It might get them interested in Ham radio. Regretfully the episode already showed today and can only be watched on tv when it is broadcasted on your local PBS station, mine is WGBY. Another alternative is to watch via Roku, Smart TV and maybe other streaming services, when it is scheduled for broadcast. In other episodes they have shown people using HTs. Watching the show can be a good lead-in to talk with children about the hobby.

Membership Applications/Renewals – by Paper or Online from the same page
Some of you have expressed preferring to send a paper membership application or renewal via the U.S. Mail vs. renewing online. Please note that that feature never went away when we implemented the online transaction. Submission of paper forms has always been available to you. You always had the option of downloading the paper form from the same page where online renewals are done.
I modified the renewals page to highlight that you have the option of submitting by paper: download the form, fill it, print it and send it with your check to the address on the form. Again – this is nothing new, I just made a change to highlight how you mail-in the form.
